KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): IOI Properties Group Bhd’s joint venture with Singapore-listed developer City Developments Ltd — South Beach Consortium Pte Ltd — recently announced its collaboration with Marriott International to launch the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.

It will be located on Beach Road (bordering the Central Business District) and close to the Marina Bay entertainment and business districts.

The hotel will be part of the South Beach integrated development that includes four conserved historic buildings on site with two new towers.

In addition to the luxury hotel, there are 190 luxury residences, 510,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, 32,000 sq ft of retail space and a 29,000 sq ft club.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach will be designed by French designer Philippe Starck and is planned to house 634 rooms.

The hotel’s location is well-served by major arterial roads and is directly linked to the Esplanade MRT station and City Hall MRT Interchange.

South Beach has been awarded with 2 Green Mark Platinum Awards in 2012 for its successful integration of sustainable green technology and environment-friendly features into its architectural concept.
