KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): IOI Properties Group Bhd (KL:IOIPG) has officially relaunched the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel in IOI Resort City last week after completing a RM100 million renovation.

Sitting on 6.5 acres of land, the five-star Putrajaya Marriott Hotel is managed by IOI Properties and comprises 487 guest rooms, including 35 exclusive suites. The renovations took place from Feb 2023 till Nov 2024 and were carried out in phases. The massive undertaking focused on the refitting and renewal of its guest rooms, lobby, restaurants and private villa.

In line with the group’s sustainability and social efforts, the fittings include new lighting installations, tropical landscaping and the addition of a family splash pool. The estimated overall cost of renovations amounted to RM100 million, according to an email response to City & Country recently.

The new updated look of Putrajaya Marriott Hotel was officially unveiled on Nov 14 in an exclusive by-invitation event.

“This relaunch is not just a momentous occasion for our hotel but also for IOI Resort City as a whole. Putrajaya Marriott has long been a cornerstone of Malaysia’s hospitality landscape, and we’re thrilled to share a refreshed experience that merges elegance with our rich local heritage," said IOI Properties cluster general manager Kumar Renoo in a press statement dated Nov 14.

The relaunch event also saw the unveiling of Red Forest, an installation by artist Kaiyi Wong (Unrealitykai). The work of art transformed the hotel interior into a surreal landscape, drawing on Malaysia's natural beauty and cultural richness, symbolising the hotel's journey of renewal.
