KUALA LUMPUR (June 7): These may be challenging times for the Malaysian property sector, but it is also an opportunity for the company to undergo renewal, said Sime Darby Property group managing director Datuk Amrin Awaluddin.

"While the property market at this time is tough, we do not see it as an obstacle but as an opportunity for those who work hard to succeed," he said in his welcome speech at a Buka Puasa event with children from the Autism Cafe Project and the media, hosted by the property developer today in conjunction with the fasting month.

Amrin said the nation is in a good state thanks to the smooth passing of power from the previous government while the state of the economy has remained steady thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The event saw over 200 guests.
