- The Wellness Suites, a serviced apartment located within the 26.5-acre KL Wellness City, has achieved 85% of sales, said Vincent Tiew.
KUALA LUMPUR (March 24): KL Wellness City has achieved 50% completion ahead of schedule. The key components of this development — The KL International Hospital (KLIH) and the Noble Health Care Park are set to be completed by 2Q2026.
The announcement was made at “Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC”, a community-focused Raya festive event organised by KL Wellness City Sdn Bhd last week.
In her officiating speech, read by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) executive director of project management Haji Mohamad Hamim, who represented KL mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, it was highlighted that the KL Wellness City development would upgrade the global status of KL.
“As Kuala Lumpur continues to evolve, developments like KL Wellness City play a pivotal role in shaping our future. This development is well-positioned to establish KL as the premier global destination for health and wellness tourism.
“Its commitment to developing a model of wellness real estate by integrating healthcare, holistic living and innovation within a single township will fuel both the direct and indirect investment flows, further developing KL’s international status,” Maimunah said.
KL Wellness City executive director of branding, sales and marketing Datuk Seri Vincent Tiew noted that since launching phase 1 in May 2024, they have achieved remarkable progress with 50% of the structure already completed ahead of schedule. This includes KLIH and the Nobel Health Care Park, a mixed development adjoining the hospital.
“By the second half of 2026 next year, we will see these facilities come to life, setting a new benchmark for healthcare and wellness excellence in Malaysia and the region,” Tiew said.
Wellness Suites 85% sold
In an interview with EdgeProp.my, Tiew pointed out that KLIH will have a capacity of 25 operating theatres.
"Most hospitals in Malaysia over 30 years old only have six to nine operating theatres. We are building 25, and it is intended to be a medical tourism hospital," he explained.
Located within the 26.5-acre township, Wellness Suites, a serviced apartment, comprises a 17-storey building offering 512 hotel-sized units. These units range from 268 sq ft to 368 sq ft, with a starting price of RM366,000.
"We've sold 85% of them. Our residential units have many features designed to cater to the needs of healthcare homebuyers or investors.
“One of the key features is the width of each unit's door, which aligns with the Ministry of Health's benchmark for a standard ward. This not only makes the units wheelchair-friendly but also allows medical teams to take action in emergencies,” Tiew highlighted.
When asked about the return on investment for investors, he indicated that their target market includes investors interested in healthcare tourism. Travellers visiting the hospital typically stay for a week. Assuming an investor uses a unit for Airbnb purposes and offers a vacation stay at RM200 per night for healthy travellers, after deducting maintenance fees, he believes a rental yield of at least 6% to 7% is achievable.
