KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 26): It looks like there are serial sinkholes in the city as another one has appeared!

This time, it is along Jalan Dewan Bahasa Pustaka (DBP) owing to a damaged underground pipe, reported the New Straits Times (NST).

The hole is “in front of the DBP main gate” on the road heading towards the Loke Yew and Hang Tuah traffic lights.

The daily also reported that a sinkhole appeared on Jalan Pinang yesterday, causing a big traffic jam.

On Sunday night, a “big” 3 sq m hole along Jalan Maharajalela heading towards Jalan Loke Yew resulted in a Perodua Myvi being “swallowed” up.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation stated that the 42-year-old driver of the car was unhurt.

Both the earlier two sinkholes were also reportedly caused by Syabas’ burst underground pipes.
