MUMBAI(August 23): A fire raged on the 12th floor in a residential building, killing four people and injuring 22 others, reported the Associated Press

Two firefighters were among those injured in the the blaze, Mumbai officials said.

The 17-storey Crystal Tower building fire spread quickly, trapping some residents in a staircase, as dozens were rescued from the building. 

The news wire reports that fire services chief P.S. Rahangdale has asked the police to seal the building and arrest the owner, as water hydrants, sprinklers, and hose couplings in the building were malfunctioning, hindering firefighters’ efforts.
