Selangor once again posted the most number of new cases with another 509 reported today; Johor came in second with 428 new cases, followed by Sabah with 383 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 313 cases.

“Qra, backed and led by one of the co-founders of Ben’s Independent Grocers (BiG) — David [Tseng] — is slated to open its doors this month,” one source said. 

The group said its indirect subsidiary Kii Melodia Sdn Bhd had agreed to acquire the land from Seri Alam Properties Sdn Bhd, the developer of the Seri Alam township and a subsidiary of United Malayan Land Bhd.  

The stay was granted by a three-member bench led by Justice Datuk Yaakob Md Sam, with the other two judges being Justices Datuk S Nantha Balan and Datuk M Gunalan.

His counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah had told Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah that he had earlier asked his client if he had visited his constituency last week, but Najib said there were no floods then.

Speaking before the judge this morning, Sri Ram said Najib as the accused in the case had "attacked" Zeti, pointing out that he knew she would be called in as a prosecution witness as a witness list was made available to him in August 2019.

The trial resumes after it was postponed on Oct 5 last year, after the former Umno president went into self-quarantine following his trip to Sabah where he was busy campaigning to ensure the newly-formed Perikatan Nasional won the state election. The trial was subsequently postponed again because of the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

"Every time they claimed, we would pay without hesitation."

Selangor accounted for the majority of the latest infections with 687 cases. 

“This is due to the voluminous notes of proceedings and exhibits which the defence find to be in error and need corrections and verification," Muhammad Shafee said.
