KUALA LUMPUR: Talam Corp Bhd has appointed Ng Bee Ken, 56, as a non-executive director, the firm said in an announcement in Bursa Malaysia on May 21.
Ng holds a Master of Science (Corporate Communication) (UPM) and is an Associate of the Association of Costs & Effective Accountants of the UK. Ng also has an LLB (Hons) (Wales), a LLM (London) and is a Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln's Inn).
Ng started his legal career in 1987 in the law firm of K C Yap, Kamaruddin & Partners in Kuala Lumpur where he handled primarily civil litigation cases on banking, commercial and corporate matters for the first three years of his practice before branching off to take charge of conveyancing and corporate matters.
In 1992, he moved on to the law firm of Paul Ong & Associates in Kuala Lumpur as the overall partner-in charge of the Conveyancing and Corporate Department in the firm.
Presently, Ng is the senior partner in the law firm of Lee Swee Seng & Co in Kuala Lumpur where he specialises in commercial and corporate matters.
Throughout his legal career thus far, Ng has acted for various public companies in Malaysia and abroad.
Ng sits on the Boards of Sinotop Textile Bhd (formerly known as John Master Industries Bhd) as an Independent Non-Executive Director, Widetech Bhd as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Xstrata Recycling Inc Sdn Bhd as a Director.
Talam Corp’s principal activities are developing residential and commercial properties and operating as an investment holding company. Operations are carried out in Malaysia and China.
