SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government proposes to build 1,442 semi-detached houses on 55.8 hectares of land under the Bukit Botak development plan to resolve the settlers relocation housing issue in Bukit Botak, Selayang.
The Selangor Menteri Besar's Office in a statement on Monday Feb 1, said the houses will be sold to settlers and owners of land in the area at RM90,000 although the actual market value is estimated to be around RM175,000.
Each unit comes with three bedrooms and two bathrooms on a land area of 2,200 sq ft. The project is expected to be ready in 20-40 months and will give Bukit Botak a new image,Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said.
"The development proposal can only be carried out after the cancellation of the agreement between the residents and the previous developer after the state takes over the Bukit Botak land," .said Khalid who had earlier attended a briefing on thhe proposal to Bukit Botak settlers.
Settlers and land owners who agree to the proposal have to sign a form issued by the Gombak Land Office before more forms to affirm house ownership can be drawn up.
"For those who agree with the proposal but do not wish to stay in Bukit Botak or those who do not qualify for a bank loan, the state government can sell the houses on their behalf at market value and give the money from the
sale to them," the statement said.
"For those who do not agree to the Bukit Botak development plan, they are only qualified to receive compensation for the acquisition of their land by the state government and have no right to the house that will be built," it added.
