SINGAPORE (Sept 29): S P Setia Bhd witnessed the topping out ceremony of its second development in Singapore, Eco Sanctuary yesterday.

“S P Setia’s commitment to replicate our expertise in building eco developments outside of Malaysia has resulted in the conception of Eco Sanctuary. The topping out ceremony here today proves that S P Setia has reached another milestone in Singapore and we are extremely delighted to have been able to bring to all this beautiful BCA Green Mark Platinum-rated development here in Singapore,” said acting president and CEO Datuk Khor Chap Jen.

According to acting deputy president and chief operating officer, Datuk Wong Tuck Wai: “The topping out ceremony marks a significant milestone and is in appreciation of the collaborative effort by all parties involved in this project."

The topping out ceremony was held on the roof top of Tower C in Eco Sanctuary.

The event was also attended by S P Setia International (S) Pte Ltd general manager Neo Keng Hoe and director of Tiong Seng Contractors Pte Ltd, Derick Pay, which is the main contractor for Eco Sanctuary.

Eco Sanctuary sits on 4.6 acres of leasehold land along Chestnut Avenue, off Upper Bukit Timah Road. It has a gross development value of S$465 million (RM1.45 billion) and consists of three 24-storey condominium blocks, offering 483 apartments of one bedroom, two bedrooms, 2+1, three bedrooms, 3+1 and four bedrooms.

The built-ups of the units range from 506 to 1,981 sq ft, with the selling price starting from S$900,000. The project has achieved a 90% take-up rate.

The project is three to five minutes’ drive to recreational facilities and amenities at nearby Bukit Panjang Plaza, Fajar Wet Market, The Rail Mail, Lot 1 Shoppers’ Mall and West Mall.
