S P Setia Bhd president and chief executive officer Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin whose group retakes their top spot in The Edge Top Property Developers Awards 2010 (TPDA) has dedicated the award to his staff for their hard work.
“We’re always delighted whenever The Edge acknowledges us among the Top 10. I would like to thank S P Setia staff for putting in all their hard work. This award is yours,” he told The Edge Financial Daily on the sidelines of The Edge Property Excellence Awards 2010 on Oct 7.
“All of their hard work in ensuring quality control, good service... they are the ones who should be receiving the award, not me,” he added.
The TPDA anchors The Edge Property Excellence Awards which also comprises The Edge-PEPS Value Creation Excellence Award and The Edge-PAM Green Excellence Award.
S P Setia bills itself as a “supermarket” of property products, producing both mass market and upscale developments in Johor, Klang Valley and Penang. Some of its more well-known projects include township Setia Alam and the award-winning Setia Eco Park in Shah Alam, a concept which has been replicated in its EcoLakes at MyPhuoc Industrial Park, Vietnam.
It is also undertaking a joint venture with Hangzhou Ju Shen Construction Engineering Ltd to undertake a 25-acre mixed-development project in the growth corridor of XiaoShan, Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province.
The group never failed to capture the Top 10 since the TPDA’s inception in 2003 and has consistently been placed first from 2005 to 2008, and made a comeback this year at the top spot after ranking No 2 last year.
S P Setia had achieved RM1.95 billion in sales, effectively hitting its sales target just two months short of its financial year end of Oct 31, 2010. Last year, it achieved sales of RM1.65 billion.
