KUALA LUMPUR: Menara Binjai, a 35-storey office tower located in Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle, is leading the way in implementing green building concepts.
In a statement here today, developer Khor Joo Saik Sdn Bhd, said the building, which complied with stringent environmental regulations, was expected for completion in the fourth quarter of next year.
Its director, Chua Guan-Hock, said the company was bringing nature to every three floors of Menara Binjai.
"Every third floor will have access to a unique triple volume garden terrace with lush greenery," he said.
He said the tower has been awarded a Green Mark Gold Certification by Singapore's Provisional Building and Construction Authority.
"It is also awaiting the final approval from Malaysia's Green Building Index for its certification," he said.
Chua said with the dual green certifications, Menara Binjai would be the first dedicated office tower in Malaysia to be award both awards.
"Right from the start, the company decided that the design and features incorporated into the tower would use cutting-edge green technology to reduce the environmental impact wherever possible," he said.
