PETALING JAYA (Sept 15): Sunway Pyramid Hotel West in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, will have a brand new name, Sunway Clio Hotel, effective Oct 1 this year, according to Sunway Hotels & Resorts — the hospitality division of property-construction conglomerate Sunway Group.

The re-naming exercise will be applied to all communication and booking channels, external signage and operational items, said Sunway Hotels & Resorts in a press statement,

The 26-storey, 4-star Sunway Clio Hotel, which was built within an integrated development in Sunway City, carries a gross development cost of RM380 million.

The hotel opened its doors on February this year, offering 401 rooms with a choice of two room types — Superior and Superior Executive Rooms as well as options of having a Sunway Lagoon theme park view or the city’s skyline.

“Sunway Clio Hotel complements the existing cluster of hotels in Sunway City, namely the 5-star flagship Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa and the soon-to-be-opened 4-star Sunway Pyramid Hotel (formerly known as Sunway Pyramid Hotel East),” said Sunway Hotels & Resorts.

According to the press statement, the re-naming exercise allows the hotels within the integrated development to further differentiate and scale-up its distinct and individual identities; while at the same time retaining the iconic Egyptian-inspired architectural elements and characteristics of the 800-acre integrated destination.
