KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 29): RHB Banking Group has formed a strategic partnership with OSK Property to introduce an overseas property financing solution tailored for Malaysian buyers.

The collaboration debuts with Melbourne Square, OSK Property’s landmark mixed-use development in Southbank, Melbourne, according to a press statement issued on Friday.

The financial product, RHB Overseas Property Financing solution, enables RHB Premier clients to access Malaysian ringgit-denominated full flexi housing loans for residential properties in Australia and the UK.

The product is designed for Malaysians who are not citizens or permanent residents of Australia, with eligibility for properties located within a 30km radius of the central business districts in Melbourne and Sydney.

It also applies to properties in Zones 1 to 3 in London, as part of RHB’s plan to expand offerings in key international cities aligned with client demand and market trends.

The facility includes flexible repayment terms, no-cost redraw features, and early release options during construction.

“RHB remains committed to being the trusted partner for our Premier clients as they diversify and expand their residential real estate portfolios beyond Malaysia’s borders. Through this partnership with OSK Property, we are offering our clients seamless financing solutions that enable them to confidently capitalise on premium overseas opportunities like Melbourne Square,” said RHB Banking Group managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Rashid Mohamad.

He added that the financing structure allows clients to manage foreign exchange exposure while remaining in compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia’s guidelines.

Meanwhile, OSK Holdings Bhd (KL:OSK) group managing director Ong Ju Yan said: “RHB Bank has introduced an innovative and flexible financing product for Malaysians to acquire properties overseas. This unique product can help Malaysian investors and families to fulfil their dreams of owning a property in a prime location like Melbourne Square.”
