KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 29): Gamuda Bhd, whose core business is in engineering and construction, announced that its engineering unit has secured a RM2.14 billion contract to develop hyperscale data centres in Eco Business Park V, Selangor.
In a bourse filing on Friday, the group said the contract, awarded by Quantum Alpha Sdn Bhd, a unit of Eco World Development Group Bhd, is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2025 and targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2027.
The scope of works covers the construction, completion, testing and commissioning of two data centre blocks (shell and core), a consumer substation, a water reservoir, as well as related infrastructure and ancillary facilities.
Gamuda noted that the project is expected to contribute positively to its revenue and earnings from the financial year ending July 31, 2026, onwards until completion.
The group also stated that none of its directors, major shareholders, or persons connected to them have any direct or indirect interest in the project. Gamuda added it will continue to update Bursa Malaysia on any material developments related to the contract.
