KUALA LUMPUR (April 18): The 24th International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition (Archidex 2025) will feature World of Works (WOW)'s immersive workspace showcase for the first time in the Asean region, among other showcases, to focus on driving regional growth and innovation in the architecture and building industry.

“WOW is the first of its kind in Asean. It is an immersive zone curated to showcase the future workplace focused on sustainable designs, with an emphasis on well-being, adaptability and innovation. It is a collaboration with Thinkscape Design Works and will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre,” said Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) president Adrianta Aziz in his opening speech at the preview event of Archidex 2025 on Thursday.

Archidex 2025, which is part of Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF), will be jointly organised by PAM and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, and held in conjunction with KLAF's inaugural Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week. The event will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) from July 21 to 24 and at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 23 to 26.

“The Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week goes beyond exhibition. It’s where architecture, arts and heritage awaken in the heart of old Kuala Lumpur, revealing the city’s tourist gems. With the aim to connect the business events industry with tourism, it drives stronger visitor economy and creates meaningful experiences for everyone,” said Adrianta.

Other showcases that will be part of Archidex 2025 include the Malaysia-China Customised Furniture Zone, PAM Pavilion and the Asean Fenestration & Technology Exhibition (Fenestex).

“The Customised Furniture Zone is a partnership between Malaysia and China catering to the growing demand for custom interiors and fit-out solutions. The PAM Pavilion will be a collaboration with the Malaysian Timber Council to promote the use of Malaysian timber to the world. Fenestex will be showcasing technologies for windows, doors, facade and glass at Mitec. These are not just ordinary highlights, they are growth drivers that power real opportunities for businesses and professionals,” said Adrianta.

To be held concurrently with Archidex 2025 is the Asean Real Estate Summit (AREC) 2025, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government from July 23 to 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The summit aims to explore regional housing challenges through the lens of sustainable construction and urbanisation, resilient infrastructure and connected liveable spaces.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, who was the guest of honour at the preview, said both Archidex and AREC are expected to bring in RM2 billion in investments, acting as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and exchange of regional best practices.

“Archidex remains a pivotal platform for driving regional collaboration and economic growth. It will continue to be a key driver in shaping the future of sustainable urban development across Asean,” said Nga.
