- Dixon said that the signing of the company’s newest Signature location comes as the demand for quality hybrid work solutions and access to a vast network of locations across Malaysia continue to rise.
KUALA LUMPUR (April 21): International Workplace Group (IWG) has announced plans to launch a new centre under its premium Signature by Regus brand at Menara Merdeka 118, Kuala Lumpur, in the third quarter this year.
The new centre will occupy two floors and provide 637 workstations, three meeting rooms, 31 co-working desks, a business lounge and customisable open space designed for businesses of all sizes.
In a statement dated Monday, IWG founder and CEO Mark Dixon said that the signing of the company’s newest Signature location comes as the demand for quality hybrid work solutions and access to a vast network of locations across Malaysia continue to rise.
“We are establishing a stronger presence in Malaysia with the signing of Signature at the renowned Menara Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, a prime business hub and the ideal location to drive our expansion plans.
“Our proven workplace model not only boosts employee satisfaction and productivity but also supports a more sustainable way of working. Through our continued collaboration with PNB [Permodalan Nasional Bhd], we are offering businesses a prestigious address in one of the world’s most sought-after locations, combining iconic locations with sophisticated flexible workspaces,” he added.
This centre marks IWG’s fourth centre within PNB-owned properties, according to the statement. IWG currently operates 45 centres nationwide under its four brands — Regus, HQ, Signature and Spaces — with 16 centres in Kuala Lumpur alone.
“We are pleased to welcome IWG’s new centre at Merdeka 118 as part of our continued efforts to support high-quality workspaces in Malaysia,” said PNB deputy president and group chief executive Datuk Rick Ramli.
“As more Malaysian businesses and professionals seek premium office spaces tailored to their operational needs, we remain committed to facilitating greater access to diverse and high-quality work solutions. The addition of IWG’s latest centre aligns with our broader objective of supporting the evolving needs of the professional community in Malaysia,” he added.
Menara Merdeka 118 is the world’s second tallest building at 678.9 metres, and the first building in Malaysia aiming for triple platinum green building accreditations, including Green Building Index (GBI), Green Real Estate (GreenRE) and LEED certification.
The Grade-A office building, which is also home to an observation deck (The View at 118) and hotel (Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur), is part of the Merdeka 118 precinct mixed-use development that has a seven-storey retail mall (118 Mall), three residential towers (Merdeka Residences) and a four-acre linear park (Merdeka Boulevard at 118). The developer, PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PNB and is the landowner and sole custodian of both Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara national heritage sites within the precinct.
