• The machine will be used at the St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor Foundation’s Rawang Dialysis Centre

SELANGOR (Jan 30): The Eco World Foundation donated a haemodialysis machine worth RM52,000 to the St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor Foundation (SJAM-KPS) on Friday (Jan 24).

The handover ceremony of the machine was attended by Eco World Foundation chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, and chief operating officer of SJAM-KPS Foundation, Datuk Yeo Kim Thong.

The SJAM-KPS’ Rawang Dialysis Centre currently operates just seven haemodialysis machines, each capable of supporting only three patients. With a total of 20 patients relying on the centre for life-saving treatment, the shortage of functioning equipment has posed a significant challenge.

The donated machine will replace a unit that has been in operation for over a decade — well beyond the typical lifespan of seven to eight years for such equipment.

By addressing this urgent need, Eco World Foundation hopes to ensure the centre can continue serving its patients effectively.

“At EcoWorld, we are deeply committed to alleviating the burdens faced by communities in need. It gives us great satisfaction to know that this contribution will help ease the pain and financial stress experienced by patients with kidney failure,” said Lee.

This initiative is part of Eco World Foundation's longstanding efforts to support NGOs across Malaysia where possible. Over the years, the foundation has contributed dialysis machines, underscoring its unwavering dedication to healthcare accessibility.

“I encourage more organisations and individuals to join hands in supporting causes like this. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Lee urged.

The Eco World Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope and relief to the communities it serves, one act of kindness at a time.
