• GL Play kickstarts 2025 with vibrant celebrations, a variety of promotions for visitors to their parks and attractions, and continues to champion sustainability.

RAWANG (Jan 22): Gamuda Land’s leisure and hospitality arm, GL Play, began a new year of fun and prosperity with the Bloom Boom Pow campaign, recently held at Gamuda Luge Gardens here.

Attendees were treated to festive performances, free rides at Gamuda Luge Gardens, and vouchers for F&B at the theme park.

The festival served to kickstart GL Play’s 2025 Chinese New Year campaign, “Bloom Boom Pow”. The campaign will run till Feb 16 across GL Play’s five parks: SplashMania Waterpark, Discovery Park, Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands, Quayside and FunPark.

Visitors who purchase SplashMania or FunPark tickets valued at RM88 or more in a single transaction on its website can join the “Shake It Bloom Boom” lucky draw for a chance to win exclusive seasonal merchandise.

GL Play is also offering a Buy 1, Free 1 deal for SplashMania tickets between Jan 28 and 30—to be utilised between Jan 29 and Feb 16.

“We wanted to celebrate the Lunar New Year with all our visitors, bringing elements of prosperity to our attractions using oriental decor to channel the festive occasion. This Chinese New Year, we will be bringing in more Heng Ong Huat performances, and transforming our leisure hubs to joyful experiences for visitors of all ages to remember,” said Gamuda Land leisure and hospitality public relations and social media senior manager Melissa Lai Su Li.

The developer also highlighted that GL Play serves a vital role in its sustainable practices.

For instance, Gamuda Cove’s Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands hosts the Jungle School programme for children from ages 4 to 9, giving them the opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of the Malaysian wetlands’ ecosystems. The park’s Wetlands Arboretum Centre is also open to residents of Gamuda Cove and the public, to let them learn about the wetlands in a vibrant, interactive setting, Lai told EdgeProp.my.

GL Play also engages with local Temuan orang asli communities, and the Wetlands Arboretum Centre sells their traditional weavings, providing an opportunity for the Temuan community to raise awareness for their crafts and generate some income. GL Play collaborates with the Temuan people to additionally host workshops on weaving and cooking, spreading the knowledge of their traditional crafts and cuisine to a larger audience, added Lai.
