• Skypark Kepler will be the first branded residential component of Tropicana’s 163-acre Lido Waterfront Boulevard, Johor, and Banyan Group’s first branded residential development in Malaysia.

PETALING JAYA (Dec 10): Tropicana Corp Bhd and global hospitality company, Banyan Group Ltd has inked an agreement on Tuesday (Dec 10) to jointly develop Skypark Kepler, a new branded residence in Johor.

Skypark Kepler will be Banyan Group’s first foray into Malaysia’s residential property market. With an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM2.1 billion, the development is targeted for completion within the next five years.

The branded residences will include two 54-storey towers, with a total of 1,596 fully-furnished units. With layouts ranging from 463 to 807 sq ft, prices will start from RM790,000.

The development will be located on a 4-acre parcel within Tropicana’s 163-acre Lido Waterfront Boulevard (Lido) township, located at Johor’s city centre, overlooking the sea facing Singapore.

LIDO will feature residential, commercial, wellness, educational, hospitality and recreational components as part of its masterplan. The township will also be located less than 5km from the Johor-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link station in Bukit Chagar, and will have freehold international zoning.

“Lido is Tropicana’s crown jewel in Johor, and our private preview in Singapore received a positive response, attracting more than 600 visitors. With Skypark Kepler, we want to curate transformative experiences for our buyers, where they can enjoy smart-city living coupled with a luxurious lifestyle, within a sustainable environment.

“We are proud to be partnering with global brands, Banyan Group, Samsung, and Kohler on our first branded residence,” said Tropicana group CEO Datuk Mark Rozario at the event.

“Now is the best time to invest and tap into Johor’s huge potential. The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), will serve as a catalyst to boost bilateral economic cooperation and stimulate growth across various industries in Malaysia and Singapore. Our Skypark Kepler will be the perfect residential choice for business travellers, upgraders and savvy investors,” added Rozario.

“In the branded residential space, Banyan Group is ranked number 5 globally, and has maintained that position for several years, a feat which we are very proud of. In terms of global real estate, we have completed over 5,000 units, with around 9,000 more in the pipeline.

“Although Skypark is our newest brand, it represents 20% of our portfolio going forward, so it is a very quick growing brand. Skypark Kepler will be the eighth development in the brand’s portfolio, and we are very proud to have it be our first footprint in Malaysia with Tropicana,” said Banyan Group property development managing director Stuart Reading during the ceremony.

Potential buyers of Skypark Kepler will enjoy multiple benefits, including special early-bird rebates from Tropicana, and access to Banyan Group’s Sanctuary Club, an exclusive programme that offers special privileges across all of Banyan Group’s hospitality and lifestyle offerings for homebuyers. This includes a 30% discount on accommodation at its hotels and resorts.

The event also saw Tropicana signing agreements with Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Kohler K&B Malaysia to kit out the units of Skypark Kepler with their fittings and finishes.
