KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 11): Construction services firm TCS Group Holdings Bhd (KL:TCS) said on Monday it is working with the developer and consultants to investigate cracks at the J Satine mixed development project.

“The group is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities in their investigation into the cause of the incident,” TCS managing director Datuk Tee Chai Seng said in a statement. “Initial findings suggest that the building cracks are not caused by us.”

The statement comes following news reports that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has ordered a halt in all construction activities at the condominium project in Wangsa Maju.

An investigation into complaints from nearby residents regarding an explosion at the site last Thursday found cracks in the shear walls, columns, and floors of units on the eighth floor and above, national news agency Bernama reported, citing a statement from DBKL.

“We want to assure all stakeholders that we have adhered strictly to all health and safety standards and protocols throughout the construction process,” Tee said. However, he did not provide additional details of the construction progress.
