• Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd which is the master developer of the 2,718-acre Senai Airport City, has inked a sale and purchase agreement with Chenbro Micom’s wholly owned unit, Chenbro Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 30): Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SACSB), a member of MMC Group, is selling approximately 15.06 acres of industrial land located in the Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone in Johor to Taiwan-based Chenbro Micom Co Ltd.

SACSB, which is the master developer of the 2,718-acre Senai Airport City, has inked a sale and purchase agreement with Chenbro Micom’s wholly owned unit, Chenbro Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Chenbro Micom is a pioneer in the design and manufacturing of integrated solutions for rackmount and tower servers, and personal computer chassis.

“Chenbro’s investment decision to strengthen their global manufacturing base to serve the Southeast Asia region is a testament to Senai Airport City," SACSB chief executive officer Gan Seng Keong commented in a statement.

Senai Airport City is home to numerous foreign direct investors (FDIs) and domestic direct investors (DDIs) that has established their hi-tech manufacturing facilities, he said, as well as research and development centres and regional distribution centres catering to the global market and leveraging on the synergistic opportunities amongst MMC Group’s industrial facilities at our ports, namely PTP (Port of Tanjung Pelepas) & Johor Port, he said.

Meanwhile, Chenbro Micom chairman Maggi Chen said the company will actively continue to create globally localised production with lean technological capabilities and low-carbon green facilities to meet rising demand of the artificial intelligence industry.

“I am grateful to the government’s support and SACSB’s professionalism with its well-planned industrial park, ready infrastructure and our partners & stakeholders,” Chen added.

To date, SACSB has developed Phase 1 and 2 of the airport city, totalling approximately 1,500 acres of industrial development.

It is also ready to launch its Phase 3 of approximately 350 acres in 2025 with final stage negotiations with numerous high-value foreign direct investments.
