PETALING JAYA (July 17): Sime Darby Property Bhd bagged three wins at The Edge Malaysia Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards 2024 (BMSPA 2024), highlighting the group’s commitment to sustainability and excellence.

The awards, now in its eighth instalment, celebrates Malaysian property management practices against best-in-class global standards.

Sime Darby Property group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican said the awards are a testament to the group’s ongoing commitment to developing sustainable communities in line with its purpose to be a value multiplier for people, businesses, economies, and the planet.

“The group is committed to innovation and staying attuned to industry trends while championing sustainable development. We aim to create a living environment where people and nature could learn to coexist better and more harmoniously. With this long-term goal in mind, we will continue to strive and improve sustainable living, in balance with nature,” Azmir added.

Sime Darby Property’s KL East Park (Phase 1) won silver for The Edge Malaysia – ILAM Sustainable Landscape Awards 2024 in the Landscape Design category. This award underscores the group’s efforts to maintain green spaces that enhance biodiversity and provide serene environments for its community.

Also located within the KL East township, Sime Darby Property’s first wholly-owned KL East Mall won bronze in the Below 10 Years: Retail category. Concerted efforts are underway to implement green building practices that enhance sustainability and reduce carbon footprint.

The PARC @ Taman Subang Ria was recognised in the Below 10 – Specialised category, with a Special Mention award that acknowledges Sime Darby Property’s contribution to creating vibrant and dynamic spaces. Opened to the public last year, PARC was designed as a replicable community centre model to influence its surrounding communities and advocate for sustainable living.

 “Thank you to the esteemed panel of judges for recognising our accomplishments and validating our efforts. Our goal is to push the boundaries of sustainable development, ensuring that our projects positively impact the environment and enhance the well-being of our community,” said Azmir.

Sime Darby Property was named one of the nation’s top three property developers at The Edge Malaysia’s Top Property Developers Awards 2023 while it also took home three awards at BMSPA 2021.
