MegaHarta looks to strengthen foothold in industrial property

• It also introduced a new Master Data programme to enhance client interactions, streamline agency operations and sharpen its negotiators’ competitive edge in this new digital age.

PETALING JAYA (May 29): MegaHarta Real Estate Sdn Bhd is gearing itself towards industrial properties to take advantage of the great potential presented in the segment.

Its principal and founder Clement Ong revealed this when giving a breakdown of Malaysia’s data in a Property Market 2023 Snapshots presentation during the agency’s Champion of Champions Awards 2024 event held recently.

He highlighted that the market has shown a steadfast recovery since the pandemic. Notably, in the industrial property segment, a significant total value of RM23.94 billion was generated from only 8,157 transactions. Ong said the number was a relatively small percentage of the total transaction volume of all properties in 2023, indicating the huge opportunities lying in the industrial segment.

He added this is a niche that MegaHarta is looking to fill, which involves building a focus team to gain a bigger foothold in the industrial property sector.

During the event, Ong also unveiled the agency’s new Master Data programme. Following MegaHarta’s successful digitisation of various administrative and management systems, he said the Master Data programme would mark the beginning of a significant chapter for the agency as it seeks to meet the challenges faced with the rising popularity of artificial intelligence (AI).

MegHarta’s Master Data programme was born out of a desire to empower the agency’s real estate negotiators with access to the latest and most comprehensive property listing data, and to increase the number of digital tools at their disposal, the agency told EdgeProp.

The programme will also enable agents to streamline their operations and the information retrieval process, giving them a competitive edge, and allowing them to focus on other aspects of their interactions with clients and closing deals.

The agency hopes this utilisation of new digital spaces will continue to improve its reach and connection to a new generation of Malaysian property buyers.

Towards this end, MegaHarta also signed a collaboration with EdgeProp last year, recognising that the latter’s advanced digital tools will help both agents and clients in making informed recommendations and investments.
