Ideal Property partners Zestron Precision Cleaning for RM60m investment at Penang Technology Park @ Bertam

• Zestron’s expansion at the Penang Technology Park @ Bertam will bring in an estimated investment of approximately RM60 million, and its new facility, which is scheduled for completion by 2025, is expected to be approximately five times the size of its current location.

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): Real estate developer Ideal Property Group has announced its partnership with high-precision cleaning products provider Zestron Precision Cleaning Sdn Bhd via a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) involving the sale of 10 acres of freehold land within the 880-acre Penang Technology Park @ Bertam, according to a press release issued on Friday.

In the statement, Ideal Property Group chief operating officer Datuk Goh Teng Whoo said: "We are ready to support their automation requirements by working closely to provide the required services and solutions."

According to the statement, Zestron’s expansion at the Penang Technology Park @ Bertam will bring in an estimated investment of approximately RM60 million, and its new facility, which is scheduled for completion by 2025, is expected to be approximately five times the size of its current location.

Zestron South Asia executive director James Yeoh said that the expansion responds to the growing demand for Internet of Things, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence and other megatrends enabled by electronics, which he believes will continue to drive the growth in the semiconductor and electronics cleaning industry. "The expected improvement in supply capacity will increase the capability to deliver enhanced levels of support and reliability to valued customers and partners."

Penang Technology Park @ Bertam's first phase, which comprises 700 acres of net saleable area, is now approximately 40% taken up by local and foreign companies in various sectors, including electronics assembly, medical devices, trading, warehouse, and logistics.

The industrial park is situated 23 kilometres from the Penang Port in Butterworth and 42km from the Penang International Airport.
