- Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the current unity government takes all Felda matters seriously, including the construction of homes for second and third generation Felda settlers, which have been abandoned.
KUALA LUMPUR (March 14): The government suggested that the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) review the Felda New Generation Housing (PGBF) projects that are only 60% completed or less, for the sake of the future generation of Felda.
In a written response to a question posed by Kuala Krau Member of Parliament Kamal Ashaari about the government’s stance on the development approval for Felda second generation settlers’ houses on first generation settlers’ lots, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said Felda has been carrying out the abandoned PGBF houses that are 70% completed, with an allocation of RM296.5 million.
The budget is a rolling allocation as per the Felda White Paper 2019.
“The government has also carried out a budget review on seven PGBF sites that are still abandoned by estimating an allocation through Rolling Plan 4 amounting to RM200 million and this budget review session was presented on Feb 24,” Azalina said in a parliamentary written reply on Monday (March 13).
“Felda will prepare a comprehensive report on this matter and will submit it for the consideration of the prime minister in the near future,” she added.
Azalina said the current unity government takes all Felda matters seriously, including the construction of homes for second and third generation Felda settlers, which have been abandoned.
