• Tan was appointed to the post in June 2021 upon his resignation as group managing director.

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 13): Kitchen furniture designer and maker Signature International Bhd’s co-founder Tan Kee Choong has resigned as group chief executive officer effective Friday (Feb 10).

“Tan stays on as adviser following his resignation as group CEO to provide guidance to support the continued growth of Signature International,” the group said in a bourse filing.

Tan was appointed to the post in June 2021 upon his resignation as group managing director.

This happened two months after he ceased to be a substantial shareholder of Signature International, when his vehicle Tenyin Holding Sdn Bhd offloaded a 7.28% stake, reducing its shareholding to 3.82%.

Meanwhile, Signature International has appointed Lau Kock Sang as the group’s new CEO.

Most recently, Lau served as the group’s CEO for local projects in 2021 and held group marketing and operational roles prior to that. Lau holds 4,000 shares in Signature International.

Signature International was founded by Datuk Chooi Yoey Sun and Tan in 1994, when it was then known as Signature Cabinet Sdn Bhd.
