• Founder and managing director of IM Global Tuan Haji Ishak Ismail: We need to educate the market because both the buyers and sellers need to be informed about what is happening, what is the best location of choice and such. We need to continuously, besides trainings or talks, have updates in terms of property news. So, I think EdgeProp has that kind of expertise and we can also assist to disseminate this information to our customers.

PETALING JAYA (Nov 10): IM Global Property Consultants Sdn Bhd (IM Global) has set itself several goals after inking a collaboration deal with EdgeProp.my, and one of them is to connect with more bumiputera purchasers and sellers in the real estate market.

“The bumiputera M40 segment has always used the traditional media as a source of information. Even the young graduates and people who work with the government or the private sector usually look at Malay newspapers when searching for properties.

“But the conventional newspapers now are becoming increasingly ‘obsolete’ and circulation among them is going down. So it is time for them to turn to technology, and this is where EdgeProp and IM Global can work together,” said founder and managing director of IM Global Tuan Haji Ishak Ismail.

Ishak also sees the collaboration as “a mutual leveraging opportunity for our brand and for EdgeProp with our existing customers”.

“The T20 will always look at EdgeProp.my as a reference or as a search engine for them to look at properties or to read any real estate news. To us, we will take this as a chance to leverage that by collaborating with EdgeProp,” Ishak said.

“The bumiputera segment to me is very important because we need to basically balance the communities in terms of property ownership. It is a way for the government to foster unity and harmony among the rakyat.

“I think the bumiputeras should look at the government’s efforts from this angle and also that property can be a good asset that appreciates over time,” he said.

Ishak revealed that “with our current strength of more than a few hundred bumiputera agents [together with EdgeProp], we will be able to help our customers sell units to bumiputeras quickly”.

Doubling as an educational tool

Educating the public about real estate is also something close to Ishak’s heart and this is where he sees EdgeProp’s role as well.

“We need to educate the market because both the buyers and sellers need to be informed about what is happening, what is the best location of choice and such. We need to continuously, besides trainings or talks, have updates in terms of property news. So, I think EdgeProp has that kind of expertise and we can also assist to disseminate this information to our customers,” he elaborated.

“The buyers will then be armed with the right information and knowledge to select the best properties, and IM Global is backed by property valuers, estate agents and property managers who can help give the market updates and overview to our customers through EdgeProp.my.

“With this collaboration, of course both parties will benefit. And at the end of the day, the buyers and the sellers will benefit the most,” said Ishak.

And let us not forget the agents doing the selling. “Basically we want to strengthen IM Global as well as bring in new technology to assist our agents, real estate negotiators, our provisionary estate agents and our team to close more deals more efficiently and to also reach our customers with the right information while receiving input quickly. That is how I think the collaboration with EdgeProp will help us,” he added.

IM Global was incorporated in 2005. Since then, it has expanded with 10 branches all over Malaysia including one recently opened in Kuching, Sarawak. It has also been incorporated in London to service Malaysians working in the UK or local Malaysians seeking UK property.

Meanwhile, EdgeProp business development head Nimalen Parimalam saw the portal’s alliance with IM Global as breaking new ground.

“IM Global has ambitious goals in this collaboration with EdgeProp, one of it being greater penetration into the bumiputera real estate segment.

“EdgeProp is more than up to the task, especially with our powerful tools and user-friendly platform,” said Nimalen.

“I can only see better days ahead for both our companies.”
