• CEO of ONYX, Yuthachai Charanachitta: We are also proud to have S P Setia Bhd as a trusted partner, in bringing our brand of Thai hospitality experience to Penang and now Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): Award-winning property developer S P Setia Bhd and one of the region's leading hotel management companies ONYX Hospitality Group, recently introduced the new Amari Kuala Lumpur in Setia KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel will offer unparalleled city experiences for today's pragmatic travellers due to its location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District in Jalan Bangsar.

The 252-room Amari Kuala Lumpur boasts the vibrant colour of modern Thai hospitality and encompasses four dining experiences and facilities, such as an infinity pool overlooking the city skyline and a FIT centre featuring state-of-the-art equipment for a good workout.

The CEO of ONYX, Yuthachai Charanachitta said the opening of Amari Kuala Lumpur marks the company’s continuing commitment to its neighbour Malaysia, which will soon be home to all three of the core ONYX brands.

“We are also proud to have S P Setia Bhd as a trusted partner, in bringing our brand of Thai hospitality experience to Penang and now Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

S P Setia’s president and CEO Datuk Choong Kai Wai said the opening of Amari SPICE in Penang and Amari Kuala Lumpur in Setia KL Eco City marks the brand's first hotels under its portfolio.

“For us, it is a natural progression as we grow from developing townships and expand into integrated developments,” he said.

Choong said S P Setia is confident that the ONYX brand will add value to its developments as Amari is a flagship brand with a rich and long-standing heritage of over 55 years.

Amari SPICE in Penang and Amari Kuala Lumpur in Setia KL Eco City are jointly owned by ONYX and S P Setia and managed by the former.

The interiors of the hotel, which was designed by the award-winning Blu Water Studio Sdn Bhd, draw inspiration from “Ecolution” – ecology and evolution, aiming to provide guests a place to reawaken their senses.

Its “Vivarium of the East” possesses liveliness and positive energy that create a revitalising atmosphere within the concrete jungle, breathing life into each space by the vivid greeneries, each seamlessly blended together.

Amari Kuala Lumpur’s restaurant and bar concepts include the signature all-day dining Amaya Food Gallery, inspired by Asia's hawker stalls and interactive street foods, featuring live cooking stations serving a variety of cuisines infused with local and Thai flavours.

Its Amaya Bar, with alfresco seating, serves refreshing cocktails and drinks, while the Cascade, boasting elegantly whimsical interiors, offers a curated range of selected teas and barista coffee and showcases the finest pastries in the city.

The Cellar is an exclusive private space for wine lovers. Shelves in the private room are brimming with a wide selection of wines, whisky, brandy, spirits and more.

Amari Kuala Lumpur comprises four meeting and events spaces on the second floor, including a 220 sq ft ballroom for up to 200 guests and a business lounge for boardroom meetings.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and natural light filled with floor-to-ceiling windows, the hotel sets the perfect stage with flexible spaces, seating and a stage for a personalised event.

“We infuse our culture into every step of our guest's journey – in the bright smile we put on everyone's face, the way we make them feel right at home, the care and creativity we put into our dining and entertainment experiences and how we bring a vibrancy to every space,” Yuthachai said.

Directly connected to Abdullah Hukum LRT/KTM Station, Amari Kuala Lumpur has easy access to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) as well as the many shopping and entertainment hubs within the city. The Setia KL Eco City Mall is a 5-minute walk away, as are The Gardens Mall and Mid Valley Megamall – via a connected bridge walkway.
