Mansion where Taylor Swift filmed her ‘Blank Space’ music video has been sold at USD$8.25 million

While the Winfield Hall (or Woolworth Estate) might be a familiar stature for the architecture enthusiast, fans of Taylor Swift may also find the estate familiar as it was where the singer’s infamous “Blank Space” music video was filmed. Standing since the country’s formative period, the estate has recently acquired a new owner with a transacted price of USD$8.25 million (RM34.55 million). 

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the mansion was initially listed for USD$19.95 million.

This palatial mansion was erected in 1917 and is one of the last standing well-preserved mansions that bears testament to the country’s exorbitant wealth during the Gilded Age.

While the mansion boasts a massive 16-acre plot of land, its architecture is equally majestic.Only the finest material qualified for furnishing the mansion was used that includes sophisticated gold leaf ceilings with massive chandeliers, to decorated or panelled walls, and an equally intricate fireplace surround the stunning inlaid floors.

The floorings are equipped with parquet floorings in differing patterns. Its walls have been panelled with hand-carved mouldings and windows that have been accessorised with finely detailed wrought iron. 

The Winfield Hall has two separate buildings, a 32,098 sq ft main mansion and a 17,000 sq ft carriage house. 

Within the main mansion, there are 12 bedrooms, 12 baths, an elevator, 180-degree ocean views, den, family room, cathedral ceilings, guest quarters, a large kitchen furnished with marble countertops and a pantry with grand public rooms large enough to hold major functions. It also has an indoor garden room. 

On the outside, the lawns are divided into garden rooms on varying levels with follies, pergolas and fountains. 

Winfield Hall is located in Glen Cove, New York. Referred to as the Gold Coast of Nassau County in the 1920s, it was called home to many of the roaring 20s’ business leaders. 

The Glen Cove area has always attracted the rich and famous such as President Theodore Roosevelt, Billy Joel, John McEnroe and many others. With its wide sandy beaches and its proximity to Manhattan, it is conveniently located.
