PETALING JAYA (Oct 1): Sime Darby Property Bhd has appointed Datuk Hamidah Naziadin and Lisa Lim Poh Lin as Independent and Non-Executive Directors of the Board, effective Oct 1, 2021.

“The Board will benefit from their vast knowledge and unique perspectives mainly in human capital development and sustainability in guiding the company through its transformation journey,” Sime Darby Property chairman Rizal Rickman said in a media statement today.

Hamidah brings with her an extensive 30-year experience in human resources and leadership experience in the financial service sectors in Malaysia and Asean. She was previously the chief people officer at CIMB Group.

“Her key achievement included strategising the resource integration in successful mergers and acquisitions within Malaysia and across Asean and APAC regions, as well as implementing award-winning strategic HR programmes.”

She also served as chief executive officer from May 2016 to October 2020 for CIMB Foundation, leading the company’s corporate social responsibility between the internal and external stakeholders, focusing on community development and financial literacy among youth.

She is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maxis Bhd and Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd. She also sits on the Board of Majlis Sukan Negara Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Lim’s appointment will bring a wealth of expertise with her prior role as a fund manager at Columbia Threadneedle in London.

Starting her career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, she has pooled over 20 years of experience from management consulting, academic research and investment management from her roles as an associate in The Boston Consulting Group and as an assistant professor at the National University of Singapore.

She has also received the Malaysian Public Services Department scholarship and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Full scholarship

Managing director of Sime Darby Property, Datuk Azmir Merican shared that the appointment will bring a new dimension for the company.

“We welcome Datuk Hamidah and Dr Lisa’s valuable experience which will provide Sime Darby Property a different dimension to support our business’ growth, as we expand in the real estate development industry,” he said.
