PETALING JAYA (May 10): Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia), formerly known as Tesco Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, is looking to recruit 200 new local colleagues in Bukit Beruntung, Selangor distribution centre (DC), thus further affirming its commitment to creating employment in the country.

In a media statement today, the company reassured the employees there are no plans for job cuts.

“Earlier this year, there had been some concerns about the employment status of Tesco colleagues once we have taken over. Rest assured, there are no plans for job cuts, and we will continue to be recruiting to support our growth aspirations and plans,” said Lotus’s president Kenneth Chuah.

“The pandemic has put many people out of a job and in support of the government’s initiative in creating employment for Malaysians, we are offering 200 permanent positions for job seekers in our Bukit Beruntung DC,” he added..

Malaysians aged 18 to 50, with a minimum education level of Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) or Penilaian Tingkatan 3 (PT3) and are willing to work shifts, five days a week are welcome to apply. In April 2020, Lotus’s has recruited over 600 Malaysians to meet the unprecedented demand during the first movement control order (MCO). Having acquired Tesco Malaysia’s business in December 2020, Lotus’s has since assumed the operations of all existing Tesco stores, employing over 8,600 colleagues across one head office, two DCs, and 62 stores throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
