KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Majuperak Holdings Bhd has appointed Nizran Noordin — a former private secretary to the Perak chief minister — group chief executive officer with effect from tomorrow, in a boardroom reshuffle.

In the course of two and a half years, the Perak State Development Corp (PKNP) subsidiary has had four different CEOs.

Nizran, 42, was formerly the private secretary to the chief minister of Perak from 2018 to 2019, and currently sits on the Digital Perak Corp Holdings board of advisory.

He replaces Mohd Ariff Yeop Ishak, 55, who had tendered his resignation as managing director-cum-group CEO, but who has now been redesignated executive chairman, according to a bourse filing.

Ariff has also been independent and non-executive chairman of Perak Corp Bhd since August 2018.

Ariff replaces Mohamed Shafeii Abdul Gafoor, 56, who had resigned as non-independent and non-executive chairman “to focus on the development of its related Company”.

Shafeii is also Perak Corp Group CEO and executive director, and non-executive chairman of Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd.

Shares of Majuperak closed half a sen or 1.56% higher at 32.5 sen yesterday, valuing the company at RM64.49 million.
