The cost rationalization process of Pan Borneo Highway has so far generated RM1.2 billion in savings, reducing project costs to RM29 billion.

The savings enable the Government to plan for other projects to drive economic growth including Sabah and Sarawak such as the 165km Trans Borneo Highway connecting Sabah and Sarawak to East Kalimantan.

Among the key components of the project are the RM600 million package for the 40 km Kalabakan-Serudong Road and the construction of the Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Security Complex (CIQS) and government housing quarters.
