PETALING JAYA (Sept 17): The iconic chimneys of Battersea Power Station (BPS) in London, United Kingdom, was emblazoned with the flags of both Malaysia and the United Kingdom on Malaysia Day.

In a press statement, Battersea Project Holding Company Ltd chairman Datuk Ahmad Pardas Senin said in conjunction with Malaysia Day, BPS is proudly lighting up the iconic chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London in the colours of the Malaysian flag.

“Battersea Power Station is one of the most important real estate developments abroad which exemplifies what we can accomplish at the global stage when we work together. We, the shareholders, are pleased with the huge progress we are achieving on the transformation of this heritage landmark into one of London’s newest and vibrant destinations,” he noted.

The 42-acre (about 17ha) BPS site is being developed over seven phases and has recently secured Apple Inc and Swedish co-working company or business members club - No 18, as its anchor tenants for its commercial site in Phase 2.

BPS development is owned by a consortium of Malaysian investors comprising S P Setia Bhd, Sime Darby Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

The commercial assets within the Power Station building are directly owned by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and EPF following an acquisition completed earlier this year representing one of the largest real estate transactions in the UK.
