KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): Ampang Jaya folk should be cheering. Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) will spend about RM22 million this year for “road and drainage repairs”, reported The Star today.

MPAJ president Datuk Abdul Hamid Hussain told the English daily that “the council would carry out 41 projects within the municipality”.

“The money for the projects will come from the Malaysian Road Records Information System fund.

“The biggest project is to mill and pave Jalan Pandan Utama, starting from the MRR2 to Ampang Campuran, at a cost of RM2.5 million,” he said.

Abdul Hamid also said starting tomorrow (March 1), the council will be cracking down on “those who failed to pay their assessment tax”.

“I advise all property owners to pay up or face the consequences. Our enforcement officers will not hesitate to confiscate valuables from the properties of those who have not paid for two terms and more,” he said.
