PETALING JAYA (Jan 30): A mysterious liquid dripping through the ceiling of a flat turned out to be blood, reported the Straits Times.

A Tampines, Singapore local who only wished to be idenfited as Ms Jamilah smelled a weird odour in her flat on the morning of Jan 29 and traced the scent to dark red fluid dripping from the ceiling of her master bedroom.

Suspecting it was blood, she told her son-in-law to contact the cops.

The police said they were alerted to an incident at Block 440 Tampines Street 43 at 8.34am and classified the case as unnatural death.

A neighbour said the man residing in the flat was not seen for many days, but he did not find it unusual as the man mostly kept to himself and only returned home later in the day.

Singaporean police are currently investigating the case.
