PETALING JAYA (Jan 8): Renting a room and sharing a house with strangers can be a pretty scary thing. You don’t know the housemate beforehand and sometimes it is like taking a bet on whether they will take care of the landlord’s house together with you.
For a couple of tenants, unfortunately, they made a hair-raising discovery over the weekend when they opened a housemate’s room after she suddenly left their Whatsapp group chat over a common disturbing issue.
In a Facebook posting which has since gone viral, one of the housemates, who goes by the name of Micho Teh, related how she and another housemate by the name of Nobu started suspecting something was wrong when this upstairs housemate of theirs started taking her meals downstairs instead of in her space.
They had kept their distance from her because she smelled unpleasant and had very greasy hair. Nevertheless, they shared a group chat, and recent discussions had been rife over an apparent cockraoch infestation whose source seemed to evade them.
The last straw came when a huge cockroach flew towards Micho and as she posted his complaints, the upstairs roommate subsequently left the group chat as well as the house.
Although Micho and Nobu had already planned to move out by this month-end, they decided to do some investigation.
So they checked out her room and this is what they discovered.
Warning: Do not view this if you are planning to eat right after.

Leftover food packages are also seen piled up in the room.
