KUALA LUMPUR (September 28): After having been grilled by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in a session that lasted over 12 hours on Wednesday, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor is expected to face another round of questioning — this time by the police.

According to media reports, the deputy inspector-general of police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the former prime minister’s wife will be asked to prove ownership of the jewellery that were seized from homes linked to her and her husband, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“Rosmah will be called again, as the seized jewellery pieces are alleged to be hers. We will need her to identify and confirm the items. It is expected to be a long process, as there are many items and we need to trace them back to the seller,” he reportedly told a press conference yesterday.

In May, authorities seized up to RM1.1 billion worth of items — reportedly Malaysia’s biggest seizure  — from six homes linked to the couple, including 12,000 pieces of jewellery and 400 watches.
