In a statement today, Dr Mahathir said he intends to write a letter to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the renewed claim of support for the former premier. "I hope the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong will accept my letter and my explanation,"

In a statement today, Warisan Sabah said its stand is consistent with what was previously stated.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak, which holds 18 seats, is understood to be backing Muhyiddin and is expected to announce its support.

The presidential council believes Anwar ought to be given the chance to stand before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to prove that he has the majority of the MPs' confidence. 

It is unclear whether the King will now call for a fresh poll to appoint a new federal government, or have the Dewan Rakyat decide on the nation’s leadership when it sits on March 9.

This was mitigated by a net gain on disposal of UK assets by a subsidiary in the quarter. Earnings per share fell to 13.73 sen, from 17.01 sen in 4QFY18.

The group’s operating profit was down 14.48% to RM378.87 million from RM443.02 million, on higher expenses and higher cost of sales, offset by a net gain of disposal of investment properties.
