KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Land and Mineral Office has become the first land office in the country capable of carrying out transaction as well as non-transaction registration within a day.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said from October last year, the office managed to register 80% of such businesses in one working day compared to five days previously.

"This system is implemented taking the cue from the Immigration Department which is capable of issuing passports within the same day," he told reporters after a briefing by Terengganu Land and Mineral Office Director Datuk Abdul Razak Ismail.

Ahmad attributed the success to the hard work of officers and staff.

He said the one-day registration would be extended to land offices in all districts. -- Bernama
