KUALA LUMPUR: The Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (Rehda) with Rehda Wilayah Persekutuan (KL) and Selangor is organizing its second Klang Valley Mapex 2009 (Mapex 2009) property exhibition with the theme, "Go Green" from July 31 to Aug 2, 2009.
The three-day exhibition at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre at Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur will showcase the latest properties of participating developers. It is open from 10am to 9.30 pm.
The exhibition will see more than 40 developers offering over 5,000 units of properties, with a total retail value of approximately RM2.5 billion, said Mapex organising chairman Datuk Michael Yam, who is Rehda deputy president.
Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha will be officiating the opening on July 31.
"With the theme Mapex Go Green, this exhibition serves to educate both visitors and developers about sustainable living," said Yam.
"It is also expected to provide a platform for developers to market their green projects while encouraging them to design and construct green, sustainable buildings that are energy-efficient, water efficient and to provide a higher quality of life for towards a more sustainable future for the coming generations," said Yam, wo is also Rehda KL chairman.
He added residential and non-residential properties, majority of them priced between RM300,000 to RM500,000 will be for sale, he added. Rehda will give a RM2,000 cash rebate to the first 20 buyers at the three-day exhibition.
Other exhibitors include financial institutions, the Housing and Local Government Ministry, the Finance Ministry's Treasury Housing Loan division, the Tourism Ministry, and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
Free talks will be held on topics on sustainable designs, Malaysia's green initiatives, the "Green Building Index" and green ideas for sustainable living for homeowners.
