SHAH ALAM (Oct 24): Sime Darby Property launched a campaign against Aedes mosquitos yesterday, involving Denai Alam and Bukit Subang residents with the aim to stop the breeding of Aedes mosquitos through good upkeeping of the townships’ surroundings.

The company’s press statement said the campaign was officiated by the deputy mayor of Shah Alam, Tuan Shukri Mohamad Hamin. Sime Darby Property was represented by its chief operating officer Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri. The fight against Aedes was joined by close to 900 residents from 22 residents associations in Denai Alam and Bukit Subang (U16 Community).

The campaign will run for a period of three months, which includes clearing of potential Aedes breeding spots, fogging and distribution of informative pamphlets to residents.

Search and Destroy Aedes (Seda) agents will also be appointed among the residents to ensure continuation of efforts beyond the three-month period. A total of about 60 Seda agents are expected to be appointed by the end of the campaign.
