PRES inks first major Penang partnership with EdgeProp for property data access

• All registered PRO agents of PRES will be able to access EPIQ, which provides real-time market data and property analytics.

GEORGE TOWN (Aug 25): EdgeProp Malaysia has signed a data partnership with the Penang Real Estate and Developers Association (PRES), enabling its members to access the company’s proprietary analytics platform, EPIQ.

The collaboration marks EdgeProp’s first major partnership in Penang, aimed at maximising the role of data in property transactions.

“Our goal is to equip real estate professionals with data solutions, so they can provide greater value to their clients and scale their businesses,” EdgeProp Malaysia business development head Nimalen Parimalam said at the signing event recently at Urban Prestige Properties Sdn Bhd’s office in George Town.

All registered PRO agents of PRES will be able to access EPIQ, which provides real-time market data and property analytics.

PRES president Eugene Tan welcomed the partnership, stating that the ability to tap into property data would benefit members in navigating a competitive market.

“A lot of PRES members are not aware of EdgeProp and the tools it provides. Hence, the collaboration gives a lot of opportunities for the members to elevate their professionalism in this industry,” he told EdgeProp.

He noted that statistics research for Penang property is still lacking, but with EdgeProp’s exposure, it will create more awareness of the state’s investment potential.

“EdgeProp’s articles featuring Penang developments will definitely help in drawing investors’ attention—from both national and international—to come into Penang’s property market,” Tan said.

Besides that, PRES vice chairman, who is also Tech Realtors Properties Sdn Bhd associate director, Selina Khoo added that EPIQ’s tools could help agents make better-informed decisions.

“EPIQ helps our agents quickly analyse properties and provide clients with accurate value and pricing advice. This improves efficiency in our daily work and enhances our company’s reputation by demonstrating a high level of professional knowledge,” she told EdgeProp.

Besides Urban Prestige, the partnership is expected to cover a wide range of agencies under PRES, which represents other firms such as Get One Property Sdn Bhd, Elite Supergroup Sdn Bhd, Tech Realtors Properties Sdn Bhd, Prima Harta, Zeon Properties Group, Pen Properties, HL Realtors Sdn Bhd, PH Home, EZ Home, Dream House Properties, TAG Group of Property Talk Realty (PTR), InteRealtor Sdn Bhd, Viks Properties Sdn Bhd, Carey Real Estate Sdn Bhd, Dencity Realty and PIT Group Sdn Bhd.

Launched in 2021, EPIQ is EdgeProp’s proprietary analytics platform, designed to provide market intelligence through comprehensive transaction data, market trends and property insights. The tool is aimed at enabling agents and agencies to enhance their service offerings and improve client engagement.

PRES, established in 2020, is an umbrella body representing real estate professionals and developers in Penang. The association has been active in promoting industry standards and engaging stakeholders to support the state’s property market growth.

This collaboration follows previous initiatives by PRES to enhance member benefits, such as the partnership since 2023 with AFFIN Bank to offer preferential mortgage rates to members.
