- I-Bhd chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong: By joining forces with AgiBot, we are making i-City the epicentre of AI and robotics innovation in Malaysia.
SHAH ALAM (Aug 22): I-Bhd (KL:IBHD) on Friday announced it is partnering with Chinese embodied AI company AgiBot Innovation (Shanghai) Technology to transform i-City into the nation's first AI and Robotics Experience Centre.
Under the partnership, both parties are looking to unveil an AI & Robotics Experience Centre at i-City, Shah Alam by the end of this year, giving the public a first-hand introduction to embodied AI technologies. Beyond this, the roadmap includes integrating robotics into i-City's hospitality assets, followed by the launch of an AI Smart Tower—a wellness-focused property development that leverages AI and robotics to support smart wellness and contribute to extending human life, according to a press statement issued on Friday.
"This partnership not only strengthens i-City’s role as Malaysia’s smart ultrapolis but also positions us to attract global investors, innovators and talents. By joining forces with AgiBot, we are making i-City the epicentre of AI and robotics innovation in Malaysia," said I-Bhd chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong in the statement.
He added that the alliance represents a strategic milestone for both parties. For i-City, it positions the development as the epicentre of Malaysia’s AI and robotics transformation. The collaboration with AgiBot—widely recognised as the foremost leader in embodied AI in China—brings world-class robotics expertise into Malaysia for the first time.
Meanwhile, for AgiBot—backed by global giants Tencent, LG and JD.com—the partnership marks its first major urban-scale deployment outside China, showcasing its ability to embed embodied AI into real-work city ecosystems, from property and hospitality to tourism and everyday urban living.
"Through i-City, AgiBot will showcase how embodied AI can transform urban living, tourism and property development. Together, we aim to create transformative experiences that will redefine urban living and set new benchmarks for smart cities in the region," said founder, chairman and CEO of AgiBot Deng Tai Hua.
