SUBANG JAYA (June 21): Sunway Healthcare Group announced a 50% take-up rate for the first phase of its senior living residence, Sunway Sanctuary in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, since its opening last year.

As part of the bigger Sunway City Kuala Lumpur in Subang Jaya, Selangor, the development has 473 rooms for lease. The first phase consists of 235 rooms and it is 50% taken up, while the second phase will be launched at a later date.

In its second anniversary celebration on Friday, Sunway Sanctuary also unveiled two new room types, a rehabilitation centre and two new programmes aimed at post-cardiac recovery and advanced assistive care.

“There are people who want different levels of comfort. With these options, we are also able to offer somebody a different category of room type that they might feel more comfortable with. So, you have that ability to accommodate a wider audience, based on their level of comfort or luxury that they want,” Sunway Sanctuary general manager Leonard Theng Boon Liang told the press.

He added that the group is also looking to build senior living residences in Ipoh and Johor. However, he declined to share further as it is still at the planning stage.

Meanwhile, Sunway Group is looking to launch Sunway Square, a commercial hub that includes components for retail, offices, education and entertainment within Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, in the third quarter. The development will be connected to other components of the master plan through link bridges or walkways, including Sunway Sanctuary.

Sunway Sanctuary is a premier senior living residence established under Sunway Healthcare Group, aiming to transform retirement living through personalised care, community experiences and holistic wellness, setting high standards for eldercare.
