BANGI (March 20): IOI Properties Group Bhd (KL:IOIPG) officially unveiled its latest commercial development, named Bangi Fresco, at its 360-acre Bandar Puteri Bangi township in Bangi, Selangor, on Thursday.

Spread across a 12.3-acre tract, Bangi Fresco will offer a combined 100,000 sq ft of retail space, including 24 shops, five waterfront food and beverage outlets, four drive-through outlets, a 19,000 sq ft grocery operator, several alfresco dining spaces, as well as a 10,000 sq ft event hall and sports centre. There will also be be 350 parking bays.

Bangi Fresco will be located adjacent to the current IOI Galleria @ Bandar Puteri Bangi off the main road of Jalan Mahkota 1. The project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2026.

In his opening remarks, IOI Properties group chief operating officer Teh Chin Guan said, “We envision Bangi Fresco as a one-stop destination for the community in Bandar Puteri Bangi and the surrounding areas to come together, not only for lifestyle and essential needs, but also as a social space and fitness hub."

According to Teh, the retail hub will be owned by the group and managed by the same leasing team that manages IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong.

He added, “While still in the discussion phase, we are targeting an upmarket grocer, a lifestyle gym and event space operator to anchor our tenant mix, with full occupancy targeted by completion.”

Commenting on the progress of the township, IOI Properties general manager of Bangi and Sepang Wong Peen Fook said that to date, about 160 acres of the Bandar Puteri Bangi township have been developed, while the remaining 200 acres “will be planned according to market demand”.

Following the launch of Bangi Fresco, Wong revealed that the developer plans to launch another retail development at the township, along Laman Puteri 2, featuring 18 linked semi-detached shops.

Bandar Puteri Bangi is accessible via road networks and highways, such as Jalan Bangi Lama, the Kajang-Seremban Highway, and the South Klang Valley Expressway.
