PETALING JAYA (March 17): Searching for a home to buy or a property to invest in can often take hours of scrolling through thousands of listings before landing on the right one — but what if there were a way to simplify the process by personalising your searches for certain listings, neighbourhoods, price ranges, and more? 

Well, we’re excited to introduce you to the EdgeProp Malaysia App, which is here to help you optimise your search for the perfect property. 

Personalising your experience with the EdgeProp Malaysia App begins as soon as you sign up for your free account — with a short quiz about your preferences as a property seeker. Your responses can be updated anytime to reflect your changing goals and needs. 

One of the key details you can add into your profile to customise your experience is your commute address. In the commute address field, key in the address of your current residence, workplace, or any other location you want to use as a reference point, to cross-check the commuting time from there to the property you’re viewing in a particular listing. 

Whenever you click into a listing on our app, you can simply scroll down — past the transaction history section — to check how long it would take you to get to work, or to your current address, or to any other location — from your potential new home. 

You can also save search topics and individual listings, which can be easily accessed through your profile, so you can keep coming back to the properties or neighbourhoods that interest you. All these features seamlessly integrate to help you create a personalised dashboard to make property hunting and decision making easier and better informed.

Choosing the right property for you requires a lot of research, and asking a lot of questions. If you need an assistant to direct your most burning questions to, our AI assistant Buddy is here to help you get them answered. To make your search more efficient, you can ask Buddy to show you listings based on specific criteria such as location, property types, price range, or even the number of bedrooms. 

Buddy can also generate listings for you based on your lifestyle needs. For example, if access to public transport is a dealbreaker for you, you can ask Buddy to show you a list of transit-oriented developments (TODs) in the neighbourhood of your choice. 

Buddy can also help you conduct a bit of preliminary market research, by providing you with lists of the latest sale and rental transactions. This will help you build a basic overview of the property market you are curious about, so you can go into negotiations, or engage with agents, armed with some level of understanding.
