AZRB bags RM63m bridge construction job in Kuala Lipis

• AZRB said the latest project will support the group’s ongoing strategic plans, continued growth and success over the next three years.

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (KL:AZRB), whose share price touched its lowest in more than 10 months last Tuesday, announced that it has secured a RM63.44 million contract to undertake the construction of a bridge at Kampung Binjai in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

The engineering and construction group said its wholly owned unit Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd received the letter of award from the Public Works Department on Jan 28, according to an exchange filing on Monday.

The contract will commence on Feb 12, 2025, and span over 36 months, AZRB said.

This new bridge, which is approximately 400 meters long and 11 meters wide, will cross Sungai Lipis, Pahang. The bridge will connect from the federal route to Kampung Binjai in Kuala Lipis.

AZRB said the latest project will support the group’s ongoing strategic plans, continued growth and success over the next three years.

“This new project is another milestone for the AZRB group and is a testament to AZRB’s good track record of completing similar projects,” it said.

Among AZRB’s past infrastructure bridge projects are Jambatan Putra in Kuantan (Pahang), Saloma Link (Kuala Lumpur), the new interchange of Istana Negara (Kuala Lumpur), the MRT Kajang Line (Packages V6 & S6), and the MRT Putrajaya Line (Packages V202, S202, and S206).

“This new project is in the best interest of the company, and [AZRB] is confident that the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s future earnings,” it added.
