SEREMBAN (Sept 24): The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated RM5.4 million to upgrade new villages in Negeri Sembilan.

Local Government, Housing, and Transport Action Committee chairman J Arul Kumar stated that 37 development projects have been identified to repair public facilities and refurbish areas in disrepair.

He added that each Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) has been allocated RM200,000 for the purpose. 

"The funds provided are to help repair and upgrade damaged infrastructure in several new villages in the state.

"Projects to be carried out include upgrading drainage systems, resurfacing roads, and improving basketball courts and community halls," he told Bernama today.

He also noted that the recent upgrade of the basketball court in Pekan Mantin was completed with an allocation of RM116,000 by the Kampung Baru Mantin JPKK for the benefit of the residents.
